#Occupywallstreet protesters block Brooklyn Bridge

#Occupywallstreet protesters block Brooklyn Bridge

From: @jeffrae

Thousands of protesters brought traffic to a halt on New York’s Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday afternoon, as they took their gripes with government away from the commercial heart to one of the city’s main arteries. Police began arresting people as the situation grew from a small gathering to a car-stopping mass. Follow the action live below with a video livestream and our list of sources covering the marches.

The protesters were heading across the bridge to join a protest in Cadman, near the Brooklyn War Memorial, but as they strayed into traffice, police were called and began penning protesters and arresting them.

COMMENT: Americans are behaving like Americans again!! I thought our belief in justice and fair play was totally lost. Props to all of you, young and old, who believe in the Republic. There are no "common" men or women here.
