Android users can now download a free app that immediately alerts their family, friends and attorneys when they’re getting arrested. Quadrant 2 developed the I’m Getting Arrested app based on actual events during the Occupy Wall Street movement.
Users of the app can enter a pre-determined SMS message and a list of contacts to notify upon their arrest. Then, as a user is being detained, he or she only has to open the app and press the bull’s-eye for two seconds to alert the set contacts.
Even if you don’t plan on getting arrested, this new app can be useful for blasting quick messages to a set list of contacts, especially if there are messages you send to the same person or people every day.
There is no word on when, or if, the app will be available for iPhone users facing arrest.
