Blintzkrieg Bop: A Ramones Food Truck Roams NYC
Just in time for the return of CBGB comes the return of one of the greatest CBGBs bands...in food truck form. Longtime Ramones drummer (and only living member of the band's longest-running lineup) Marky Ramone has started his own meatball truck, Marky Ramone’s Cruisin’ Kitchen. Too bad you won't be able to get Cretin Crepes there.
The truck started roaming the city at the end of April with four different types of meatballs by chefs Keith Album and Marky Ramone—that includes Italian (beef), Asian (pork), American (turkey) and Mexican (chorizo) meatballs. All orders are $7, and you can get it either “in a boat” or on a roll. You can check out more pictures of the food here.
In addition to being a chef and former Ramone, Marky Ramone (aka Marc Bell) was also the drummer on Richard Hell and The Voidoids seminal first album, Blank Generation. Check out his drumming and the ballsy, balletic guitar lines of Robert Quine in "Betrayal Takes Two" below:
This is nice post. It's chips crunchy but never burned. It's what all chips of the world should aspire to. Srsly.
