Christopher And His Kind (2011)

I watched this BBC adaptation of Christopher Isherwood's biographical novel last night on DVD. Didn't know it was available on Youtube. I was impressed. I read his "Berlin Stories" in the seventies when I was examining my own sexuality and much of his later work, including the great "A Single Man." The musical "Cabaret" was based in Isherwood's "Goodbye Berlin." His work positively influenced my life. He was one of the great gay writers.

I met Christopher and his lover Don Bachardy several times in New York, and I even took the two of them dancing one night at the Cockring, a wild little disco at the corner of Christopher and West Streets.
