"Impacted." As in: "Parents were impacted by their kid's death; and, "Few in America were impacted by the deaths of over 1,000 humans in the Philippines today." Where did this idiotic, unattractive usage by the press and others arise: business? government? When I hear "impacted" I think of constipation, as in blocked organ, or an "impacted" wisdom tooth.
