Far Cry 3 is Looking Good, Scheduled for 2012

Ubisoft Montreal's new FPS will debut next year.

  One of the first games shown at Ubisoft's E3 press briefing was Far Cry 3, although that didn't become abundantly clear until the end of the demonstration.

  The section of the game shown was set in a jungle, which to some extent suggested it was a Far Cry game. After closing in on a bandit camp, you're taken hostage and, after a chat, thrown into the water to drown with a cinder block tied to your feet. A sequence ensues where you knife an enemy while jumping off a cliff, quickly knife another, and then immediately throw it at a third guy. Following this, you hijack a helicopter and force the pilot to take off. It ends up crashing and you're again faced with the same seemingly-psychotic man who threw you into the water earlier, who repeats one particular line: "Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?"

  The Ubisoft Montreal-developed game is looking pretty good based on this trailer. It'll be out in 2012.
